Limited edition Samhain Candle. Cinnamon, clove and red mandarin. 

Samhain is a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter or the "darker half" of the year. It is a day where the dead are honoured, remembered and celebrated. Traditionally, it is celebrated from 31 October to 1 November, as the Celtic day began and ended at sunset. This is about halfway between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice. This year it’s special because it falls upon the second full moon in October. . 

The thinning of the veils. It is said that during this festival, the world of the gods “was believed to be made visible to humankind,” leading to supernatural tricks and trouble; ghosts of the dead and spirits from the Otherworld were also thought to return to the earth during Samhain. Tricks and pranks were often played, but blamed on fairies and spirits during the three-day period, when the line between the two worlds blurred. People wore costumes and masks to disguise themselves as harmful spirits and thus avoid harm. Halloween was born from Samhain. 

This candle blends warming cinnamon, clove and red mandarin essential oils. Scents that are know to be used around this time of year for many reasons. 

Cinnamon - comes from the curled bark of the cinnamon tree. It is a spice that makes us feel warm, safe, at home. It is known for protection around the home and during times of discomfort. 

Clove - A rich, warm and spicy scent. Strong, antiseptic, insect repellent. It is known as the flower of the gods in Asia. Cloves offer protection and ward off evil spirits and jealousy. They also make a very potent ritual cleanse. Sometimes they are used for prosperity magic.

Red mandarin - Comes from the citrus fruit. A gentle and fruity scent, a bright joyous oil - it’s been know to be called happiness in a bottle so great to help bring the sunshine as the sun begins to leave us as we move into the darker half of the year.

Made using eco soy and rapeseed wax and hand poured with essential oils in the yogi oil factory in Scotland.
Please remove plant bits before burning candle and burn for 2-4 hours on first burn to ensure a clean even melt pool.
